Sample CAE Writing - Part 2

Updated: Nov 15, 2020

Hi Chris!

It is music to my ears to hear that you will come and stay in Ho Chi Minh city for some time. Wouldn’t it be better if you let me show you around as I can be your translator? Talking about my city, it is always full of beans with all the hustles and bustles going on at night. I’m sure you will be surprised on exploring the soul of the city.

That’s it for the boasting. Let’s now turn to some of my suggestions. It’s a pity that you will be free only in the evenings because Ben Thanh market is closed by then. But don’t worry, we can leave that to the weekend. At night, there are a number of (=some) flea markets to visit. If you fancy going to some pubs, I suggest you visit Bui Vien pedestrian streets where you can find many pubs and bars that open for foreign visitors like you. The place offers a vibrant atmosphere and some escapism from the toil of the day’s work in Ho Chi Minh city.

At the weekend, you can give the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden a try. There is currently a campaign going on to attract more customers to secure the livelihoods of the animals. Visiting the zoo, you can enjoy your own free time and commune with nature. It also gives you some magnificent photos to share them on Facebook too. You should spend at least a day in the zoo so as to fully appreciate the place. At night, you can arrange a visit to Bitexco, the symbol of financial development in Ho Chi Minh city. The Skydeck costs about 500.000 dongs but you can try the local beer and watch the city from above. Then you can visit the museum of ‘ao dai’ about which you have heard from me before.

I think those are enough for you to get to know the city in-depth and blend in with the rich local cultures.

See you then,

The English Assembly.
